NYC Health + Hospitals reached out to Big Drop to refresh its existing website. The main goal was to have a site optimized for search, bettering the find a doctor and find a location experience for users. In doing so, it was equally important for the site to have a clean and legible user interface with relevant navigation.
One of NYC Health + Hospitals' key priorities was to enhance the user experience by effectively categorizing users, helping them easily locate the services they needed, whether it was renewing their Medicaid or simply scheduling a flu shot.
In the endeavor to launch NYC Health + Hospitals' newly updated digital presence, Big Drop aimed to showcase the inherent worth of the full-service hospital system. The website was designed with a focus on portraying the mission-driven hospitals, emphasizing the commitment of its staff to delivering top-notch care to every patient.
To make the site easier to navigate, we implemented an information architecture strategy that included a robust directory and search features. In addition, we created a site that displays highlights, factors in multilingual demographic content, and communicates all levels and ranges of services that the network of NYC Health + Hospitals provides throughout the nation.
When revamping NYCHH's digital presence, Big Drop aimed to emphasize the true value of its healthcare providers and their dedication to delivering comprehensive, personalized care to the people of New York. The website was designed to be mobile-friendly, making information easily accessible and inviting all New Yorkers to explore the hospital's offerings.
In addition to this, one of the robust solutions we created was the ability for each Local Site / Location to have its very own microsite, allowing NYCHH to manage relevant content for their bespoke demographics. This addressed a major pain point for NYCHH, with each location previously not having the ability to display or update local, relevant content. Now, they can do that within the parent brand, ensuring a more cohesive and efficient digital presence.
After implementing an information architecture strategy to create a well-organized content structure, our next step was to create descriptive and educational custom illustrations that would enhance the visual appeal.
We also integrated interactive elements that make NYCHH unique and distinguish it from competitors. Through the use of icons and multimedia elements, we successfully broke up long blocks of text, keeping users engaged and well-informed.
Through the updated website, Big Drop has developed a digital presence that showcases NYC Health + Hospitals' foundation of social and racial equity, as well as its adherence to the ICARE standards for all staff. This transformation enhances the patient experience during their care and fosters greater staff engagement with NYCHH's mission and vision.
