An event for women of color in media, marketing and creative
NEW YORK, NY – October 17, 2019 – Presence is Power: An actionable conversation on how to be more present in your work environment,” a sponsored event by Big Drop was hosted on October 9, 2019, in the company’s downtown Manhattan office. The event brought together women of color across media, technology and creative for a night of networking and conversation led by powerhouse leaders.
The panelists included Alexis Toney, Director of Marketing & Ecommerce at Ovadia & Sons, Chanel Auguste, Associate Director of International Marketing at Sony Inc., Michelle Almeida, Associate Director of Marketing, Beauty and Wellness at Refinery 29 and Whitney Headen, Co-Founder & CEO at 19th & Park and was moderated by Brea Mosley, Director of Marketing at Big Drop.
The panelists provided insight and actionable steps for attendees to excel in their careers and help them maneuver their respective jobs and industries. Stereotypes in the workplace, negotiating salaries and how to step up without overstepping were a few of the topics that the panelist discussed. The attendees for the night were predominantly women of color with various career backgrounds, ranging from early starters to well-established executives.
“Presence is Power was more than a moment, it’s a movement. This is the first of, what I hope is many more, events of varying formats. The feedback was extremely positive and I’m looking forward to giving professionals of color a platform and space to learn, grow and excel,” said Brea Mosley, about the event.
